Our Mission

MISSION

Friends of Tri-Cities Animal Shelter (Friends of TCAS) will provide funding to Tri-Cities Animal Shelter (TCAS) for goods and services to improve the care of animals under the custody of TCAS.

PURPOSE

Within the purview of our mission, Friends of TCAS is established to: 1) ensure that monetary donations remain in perpetuity for the benefit of TCAS animals, regardless of shelter management and operational changes, and 2) improve the quality of lives and increase adoption numbers of shelter animals currently in custody of TCAS.

FUNCTION

Friends of TCAS will solicit, receive, and allocate donated funds for goods and services to TCAS for purposes such as:

  • Spay/Neuter

  • Routine Veterinary

  • Emergency Veterinary

  • Training/Behavior

  • Grooming

  • Consumable and Durable Goods

  • Adoption Campaigns

We’re different, but connected;

it’s a “tail” of two organizations serving a common goal.

Friends of TCAS is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to provide supplemental funding exclusively to TCAS. The funds raised by Friends of TCAS are allocated to TCAS case-by-case, through a "Request for Funds" form.  Our goals are two-fold:  to improve the quality of life of the shelter animals AND increase their chances of a timely adoption!

Whereas, Tri-Cities Animal Shelter is a publicly-funded agency operated by the City of Pasco, WA. TCAS provides animal control and sheltering services to the residents of Richland, Pasco and Kennewick, known collectively as the Tri-Cities.  TCAS operates on an annual, often cost-prohibitive, budget.

We are uniquely different organizations, but our goal of helping local animals in need is shared – a partnership that works!
